"I have always believed that music should take the listener on a journey, either emotional, cultural, or through space or time. A single musical theme might transport you to many lands, or deep within yourself"

    A Pattern of Lands

The Ancients believed a journey could take a traveller in one of five directions; North, South, East, West, or inwards to the heart.

With these eight tracks, Riley and a superb cast of musicians and vocalists, including Jayne Elleson and Huda Sabour, evoke the magic and romance of people and places from all points of the compass. From New Zealand and Australia to Egypt and the Savannah, this stunning album combines World Music sounds with the emotional vocal sounds heard on their first Visions & Voices release.

Jayne's sexy vocals combine with the superb mute trumpet work of Geoff Culverwell on Just Breathe, while Jon Mark, Leigh Jackson and Gary Taylor guest on guitar, and Damon Grant's sax and Nathan Gray's amazing didgeridoo weave in and out of the lush pads and strings.

"A brilliantly colourful journey to many lands both real and imagined, interweaving evocative melodies and vocal textures, ethnic rhythms, gypsy guitars and lush synthesisers."
